Richard Cyr Unanimously Elected
District 9 Hermon/Bangor Republican Caucus unanimously elected Richard Cyr, from Hermon, as the republican candidate for the Senate District 9 seat. Election will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2024. He is running to oust incumbent Joe Baldacci.
Richard Cyr is retired from the military, a farmer, and currently serving in his third year on the Hermon Town Council.
Town Staff Honor Former Town Manager Josh Berry
After eight years of dedication to the Town of Hermon, Josh Berry has transitioned to full time Entrepreneur. The staff at the Town of Hermon expressed their gratitude and bid him a fond farewell in a touching letter.
The Town of Hermon has been blessed to have such an outstanding leader in Hermon.
On July 18, 2024, Mr Berry will start his first term as councilor on the Hermon Town Council
~This Week's Recap~
Locally things have been quiet, while nationally it has been a different story. With the attempted assassination of former President Trump, Trump announcing his VP pick US Senator J.D. Vance, and the start of the Republican National Convention, a lot has been going on.
At the convention, the Republican National Committee kicked off with the approval of Trump as the republican presidential nominee, the approval of the 2024 GOP Platform, and JD Vance's acceptance as Trump's running mate.
Unlike the tone from the 2016 platform, the 2024 platform is concise, direct, and includes a map to improving things in America. The platform lists 20 promises to the American people and in 10 one-page chapters, it lays out specific steps to Make America Great Again. There is a heavy focus on uniting our country and returning to common sense.
As stated in 2024 GOP Platform, "Our Nation's History is filled with the stories of brave men and women who gave everything they had to build America into the Greatest Nation in the History of the World. Generations of American Patriots have summoned the American Spirit of Strength, Determination, and Love of Country to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. The American People have proven time and again that we can overcome any obstacle and any force pitted against us." This is our time to be brave and stand for our families, our communities, and our country.
Together, America can do great things! Let's work together so that the American Dream can shine bright for all Americans both locally and nationally.
